What Happened?
2024 was a big year. While at times it may have felt slow, when I look back at all that has happened I am very proud of the work I accomplished and the people I met. I made headway on personal passion projects like The Demon Corps, writing more songs and continuing to expand the story. I worked on a number of video projects with Trae Elijah, Cross Point Church, Major League Cutting and Coring, Lighthouse Roofing, and Nashville Film Festival to name a few. This has been a year packed with creativity, passion and joy.
Performance Highlights
Theater Gigs
Even though I may not be perusing auditions sometimes it feels like I can't fully outrun the theater. At the beginning of the year I performed with some friends in Lebanon TN as an understudy to Clyde in Bonnie and Clyde. I music directed with two middle schools in their productions of The Lion King and Mary Poppins. I may have underestimated the energy and lack of focus that 6th, 7th and 8th graders possess. I was reminded quickly that working with adults and working with children are very different. It may have been difficult taming the wild energy of eleven and twelve year olds, but it was fun to see many of them discover their passion for theater and art.
Video Projects
There were a ton of exciting projects that came out of 2024. Most are highlighted in the highlights video above. I shot a number of projects for Cross Point Church: one of my favorites being their mega Wednesday opening video. Bringing ideas to life and building visions into tangible products has been the highlight of the year. Collaborating with Trae Elijah on his spoken work projects has been another highlight to come out of 2024. (you can check out one of my favorites here) Additionally we pumped out a bunch of content for Major League Cutting and Coring, Lighthouse Roofing, and some real estate content for Blue Door Real Estate
Looking Ahead to 2025
Setting New Goals
2025 is a big year of change. With my goals of writing and producing full-time there is a possibility of a large move at the end of the academic year. New York seems to be calling louder and louder these days. With the headway I've been making on my show The Demon Corps there is a strong desire to be in a city where I can pitch the show and produce it easier than I can in Nashville. In 2024, I was able to produce 2-3 demos and develop a stronger understanding of the musical style this project is going to need. I hope to enter 2026 with a full script and demos for my show and right now we're already halfway through a draft that is feeling like the strongest one yet.
Conclusion
It's been an amazing year filled with exciting projects, awesome people and passion filled work. I can't wait to see where the next year takes me. For the first time in a while I am a little scared, excited and nervous. I know God's got some good things in store. I'm just along for the ride.
